What kind of support do you offer?

I offer non-medical companion care and personal assistance for Kelowna seniors. Services include companionship and social visits, meal prep and shared meals, light housekeeping, laundry, errands and appointments, organizing and downsizing, recovery care, travel companionship, and technology help. I serve seniors throughout the Kelowna area.

Think of it as everything a loving daughter would do: showing up fully, staying as long as you need, and genuinely caring about your day.

No – Daughter4Hire is a non-medical service. Our caregivers are not nurses or healthcare professionals and, we don’t administer medication, provide medical assessments, or perform any clinical tasks.

What we provide is just as important: a consistent, caring presence that supports your daily life and keeps you connected, comfortable, and never alone.

If you need medical care, We’re happy to help coordinate with your healthcare team as part of our support role.

We provide companion care that Kelowna and area families trust. We work with seniors who want to maintain their independence and quality of life, and we support families who want peace of mind knowing someone reliable is there.

Our clients range from active older adults who just need a little extra help with daily tasks, to those recovering from surgery, managing a chronic illness or facing the challenges of aging. If you or someone you love could use a warm, dependable presence – we’re probably a good fit.

Getting started is simple and there’s no pressure. Reach out by phone, email, or through the website and we’ll have a relaxed conversation about what you or your loved one needs.

If you’re local, we’ll follow up with an in-person visit so we can meet face to face and make sure it feels right – because it has to feel right. If you’re coordinating from out of town, we can connect by phone or video first, and we’ll visit your loved one in person once we’re ready to move forward.

Once everyone’s comfortable we’ll build a schedule that fits and start at whatever pace suits you best.

Yes. The women in my life originally inspired my business, but we welcome clients of all genders. What matters most is finding a good fit so you and your loved one feel comfortable and well supported.

Not sure if Daughter4Hire is right for your situation? We’re always happy to talk it through – no pressure. 

My first visit is offered at an introductary rate, capped at 2 hours. This introductary rate does not apply to organizing or downsizing projects. All visits, including the first, have a two- hour minimum per visit.

Ongoing tares depend on the type of support:

  • Appointments and errands, outings and companionship – $35/ hour + mileage
  • Recovery care, light household help, mealtime support, paperwork, technology help – $35/ hour.
  • Recovery care overnight sleep shift (8pm – 8am, 12 hours) – $300 flat
  • Organizing and downsizing – $50 – $60/ hour

Overnight sleep shifts are billed at a flat rate, reflecting rest periods with on-call availablity for safety and support.

When transportation is needed for errands or appointments, I use the clients vehicle wherever possible. When my vehicle is required, I drive a 2025 Mitsubishi RVR and charge mileage at the current CRA rate (2026 – $0.73/ km)

Travel and away-from-home support is available by arrangement, with a separate daily rate – reach out and we can discuss the details.

If you would like to continue with ongoing visits after your first appointment, I’ll collect a credit card to on file at that time, as agreed to in our service agreement- this protects against late cancellations and ensures invoices can be processed promptly if payment isn’t otherwise received. 

For your first visit, payment is collected on the day. For ongoing clients, I invoice weekly, with payment due within 3 days of receipt. A late fee of $25 applies to any invoice not paid within that time. You can pay by credit card, cheque, interact debit, e-transfer or cash.

 

That’s completely normal – and it’s one of the things that makes Daughter4Hire different. There’s no rigid contract locking you in. As your needs grow or shift, we simply adjust together – more hours, different support, or something entirely new. You’re never stuck and you’re never alone in figuring out what comes next.

Yes, Daughter4Hire carries Liability insurance to protect both clients and their families. All of our caregivers are covered under WorkSafe BC, maintain a clean driving record, pass a current criminal record check, and hold up-to-date First aid/ CPR certification.
